HDR Friday: Miniature Emerald

After several days without my laptop, I am now back and running with updates and processing.  Starting today, I'm going to setup something to keep this blog going and provide everyone with lots of photos that hopefully you'll love! So every Friday will now be considered as "HDR Fridays", I'll be posting a HDR photo (or multiple photos) every Friday to kick off the weekend!  Also, for all the mobile photo lovers (i.e. iphoneography), please come back and visit every Monday (Mobile Monday) where I'll post a photo from my mobile camera using either hipstamatic app, camera+, or instagram etc.

For the inaugural post of HDR Friday.... let me present to you, the Seattle skyline without the Space Needle, since this was shot inside the Space Needle, Sky City Restaurant.

P.S. - Speaking of mobile photography, have any of you seen this lil' gadget for your iphone: http://photojojo.com/store/awesomeness/iphone-slr-mount/ .  I might just put this on my Christmas wish-list this year ;)

To The Emerald City (part 1)

We enjoyed a few relaxing days of good food, beautiful views, laughters and some clean air!  It was our sibling's first trip ever up here in the Pacific Northwest so Mari and I got to be their unofficial tour guides.  Although this would be my 5th straight year visiting Seattle, I still don't really know what else to experience beside the typical tourist spots like Pike Place Market and Space Needle.  So aside from visiting the tourist spots, we explored the city with our tummies! We enjoyed two amazing tours from Savor Seattle Tours and of course did our own Yelpin' & exploration.  Unfortunately, part 1 of the post will only show the scenic photos so stay tune for part 2 of the post by the end of the week!

THE Beach

Solana Beach is "THE" Beach... it's the beach that my fiancee and I went on our first date, and it's the same spot where I propose to her exactly 263 days ago! So couple weeks ago, on our way to San Diego we stopped here for a quick walk down the beach, and some self-portrait (or as we call it our own lil' engagement session).

Photo of the day: Study the Eye Candy

I've lived in LA for most part of my life, and this is a first time I've ever step foot inside the Los Angeles Library.  I was never really a "library" type of person, I spent most of my college life at Starbucks.  I guess I need noise to actually focus! Anyhow, here's a HDR shot of the LA Public Library interior!  Hope everyone have a great weekend!!!

Photos of the day: Red Twist

Inspired by a fellow photog's shot (http://bit.ly/exgsfW), I was able to find this spot in downtown LA. "Double Ascension" sculpture by Herbert Bayer located in the middle of the old Arco Plaza (now City National Plaza) stands between two skyscrapers and two well known restaurants (Drago Centro & Chaya).

Beauty before the storm

It's already April and it's windy, cloudy, scattered shower.. I guess I should say welcome to Los Angeles! Anyhow, based on many facebook/tumblr posts from LA, (including mine: http://mobile.ronlimphotography.com/post/4446397434/now-this-is-a-beautiful-day). The Friendship Bell

Bronze bell, stone pavilion, and traditional Korean architecture.. if you don't know any better, any one would think this was taken in Korea or some where within Asia.  Well.. say hello to Angel's Gate Park in San Pedro, California! The bell is call the "Korean Bell of Friendship" or "The Belfry of Friendship", presented by the Republic of Korea to US in 1976. (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_Bell_of_Friendship) Apparently this is quite a spot for photographers of all level, during the 30+mins we spent at the spot, we saw a portrait session, landscape photographers and even some amateur shooting his girlfriend on a motor bike...
