HDR Friday : Waiting
So, during the "down time" of our St. Thomas tour I ran off from my wife for couple minutes... and no it's not what you think.. I ran off to get a shot of this photo above! The color and the texture of the building sticks out like a sore thumb so I knew it would make a great HDR photo.
Consider this as a teaser for the next series on the blog (Caribbean Cruise Part 3 - St. Thomas), so stay tune for next week's post :)
Happy Friday everyone!
2012 Caribbean Cruise Extravaganza – Part 2 - Sint Maarten
For part 2 of our Caribbean trip.. I'll just give you the tour of the beautiful Sint Maarten. Mainly because I haven't had any chance to finish editing rest of the photos but I digress... so here we go, the multicultural, and island divided between the French & Dutch... Sint Maarten:
We decided to utilize their local taxi tour guide instead of cruise line's excursion package to save us some cash.. after all it still takes us to all the places we wanted to see. So starting off in the French part of the island:
We stopped by the tail end of a nudist colony/beach.. the Orient Beach:
Might I add.. this is our first time ever at a nude beach, and no we did not participate :p
Here are some interesting scenery and lifestyle from the French side:
After exploring through the French side, we arrived into the Dutch territory and on to Maho Beach.. my "must-visit" spot for the whole Caribbean trip. For those who don't know, Maho Beach is located adjacent to the Princess Juliana International Airport! Where all the incoming planes must fly over to land on the run way! Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to wait for a 747 to fly by.. but hey at least now I can say I've experienced it :p
Last stop.. Philipsburg, the main town and capital of Sint Maarten:
Stay tune for part 3... back on the US soil, Saint Thomas of US Virgin Islands! Of course for those of you who missed part 1, you can always check it out HERE.
Guess the abstracts... these photos were shot at _____________?
Superhero Inspired Editorial - Apryl C.
According to Weird California, Salton Sea is one of the oddest place in California and personally there are no doubts about that. Just imagine a HUGE lake with high concentration of salt in the middle of a desert; and along the shore there are hundreds of fish carcasses and the debris of old vacation homes eroding down into the ground its sitting on. What once a popular vacation destination, now it looks as if a bomb had detonated in the middle of the desert and destroyed everything and kept the lake in pristine condition.
So why would anyone go there?? Well, just check out some of the gorgeous landscapes and backdrop it has.. now just add a gorgeous model, photographers and half a day of some creativity experiments, you'll get the perfect formula for a photo session ;)

Honeymoon in Paradise - Part 1
Happy Monday everyone! It's been couple weeks since I updated the blog, so I hope this post was worth the wait. My wife (still feel little odd to say) and I celebrated an awesome wedding with 450+ of our family and friends. Then after couple days of recovery, we kicked off our new chapter in life with a honeymoon in French Polynesia (Moorea & Bora Bora).
The trip was definitely a first for me, since I rarely did any vacations where all we do is relax and sit under the sun. Regardless, we brought 4 different cameras and my iPhone to document as much as we can. So for the next couple of blog posts, you'll see plenty of photos (and maybe couple videos) of scenic and activities. Don't worry, by "activities" I meant water sports and it'll be PG13.
Here are some iPhone shots via instagram & hipstamatic:
Check out our resort in Moorea (Sofitel Moorea Ia Ora Beach Resort)

Congratulation - Mike & Lai
We were honored to attend an amazing wedding last night; the union of high-school sweethearts, Mike & Lai! You can just tell from the look in their eyes, after 12 years they are still madly and deeply in love with each other. Of course as a photo geek, I brought my 5d for some random snapshots to capture the moments... hopefully they'll enjoy some of these shots I got for them.
Also, I want to note that we attended the wedding as personal friends.. By all means, they hired the talented Kim Le from Kim Le Photography as their photographer, so I have no doubt that they'll have some amazing photos to reflect back on.

Garden Galore
There's nothing better than a quick photo shoot to re-inspire and frankly, be away from our responsibilities. Here are some fun shoots from our trip to Descanso Garden in La Canada Flintridge this past weekend. The fiancée was patience enough to model for me with several 7+ shots panoramas, so I gotta give her a shout out here before she stops modeling for my experiments.
Photographers start young these days...
I can't have a photo shoot without some sort of HDR or "Brenizer Method"... in this case, I did both! =)
It's rare that we actually have a picture together.. gotta thank this nice lady for taking this shot perfectly.
Food food food!!!
Ok, if you've checked out my portfolio already then you probably noticed that I don't promote one single type of photography. I love tinkering into all sort of photography, and some people may say it's bad business practice but at the end of the day learning new things and making mistakes (and learning from it) can only improve one's self.
Anyhow, having a fiancee that's a foodie sure helps with food photography.. here are few shots of our dinner at Curry House last night:
(ok ok, the picture below is not food but it's nice decoration... now keep scrolling)
Seafood Stone Grilled Curry Rice
Chili Shrimp & Spinach Spagetti (my favorite)
