Peanut's Baby Shower

Never thought photographing your own baby shower can be this difficult, I don't think I really got into the flow of shooting since I was trying to entertain our guests and help with the setup, next time I'll just hire a photographer instead ;) Anyhow, my wife and I really got to give a huge HUGE thank you to all of our siblings, aka the baby shower committee, who spent so much time and effort to plan this party. Even though the downfall of rain limited our 80+ guests to be cramped into the house, everyone seems to enjoyed themselves. (I think the mass amount of food helped in this case).

Here are some photos, and we thank you, to all the family and friends who attended the celebration and made it a great party! We hope you all enjoyed the food and the festivity! Our lil' peanut thank you all too :)

How to Celebrate a Valentine's Day..... our way

Happy day after Valentine's day everyone! Hope everyone had an awesome time celebrating the day with your significant other. And I'll quote what my good friend had said, "Even if you don't have a significant other in your life you should always show love to the many other significant "others" in our lives."

Now with the proper greeting out of the way, I'll be blunt and admit that I am very cynical about the day itself.... It is over-commercialized, and there's always chaos at every florist with guys begging to purchase overpriced roses for the last minute rush... but let's troop on and check out what we did to celebrate the day without breaking our bank and minimizing the chaos ;)

I surprised the wife with a home-made photo flip book! Sorry I didn't end up taking a photo of it itself but it contains the following photos in order:

In return, the wife surprised me with a card and a make-shift snack box for my daily commute to work:

During my lunch break, I trek back 25 miles back to pick up the flowers I ordered the day before to surprise her when she get home (disclaimer: I don't like to buy flowers..but there's always an exception):

For dinner and dessert, well the pictures shows a thousand words.. and yes, they are homemade! =)

All and all it was an awesome Valentine's Day.. especially since this was our first Valentine's as a married couple :)

P.S. - Even our puppy got into the spirit ;)

5 Nights of Homemade Food-Porn!

Now who doesn't like food-porn photos?? I mean even with the word "porn" in itself typically capture people's attention. But rest assure, at least viewing these photos will not get you into troubles with your boss or even your spouse ;)

Throughout this past week, I was fortunate enough to be able to photograph and CONSUME all these delicious dishes made. I gotta admit that I'm one lucky man!

Anyhow, enjoy the photos and try not to drool all over your keyboards :)

Night 1:

BBQ Chicken & Pepperoni Pesto Pizza

House-style Spagetti & Meatball + Baked Mozzarella & Potato Wedges

Ohn-No Khao Swè - Burmese Coconut Noodle Soup (1st attempt)

Mohinga - Burmese Fish Noodle Soup (1st attempt)

P.S. Message me if any of you think we should create a cookbook. My wife seems to have plenty more recipes up her sleeves, and my camera and my tummy are ready!

Yumm-o-liciously Fun

My last day of work before starting a new adventure at a new firm = Ecstatic yet bummed... A beautiful friday afternoon exploring downtown LA with the fiancee = Yumm-o-liciously fun (yes, I made up that up)

Bottega Louie was the perfect place for us to try out on that beautiful afternoon. Neither of us have ever been and there's been so many rave reviews about it amongst our facebook friends. Like the saying goes "if it ain't on facebook, it ain't official... " . So with that said.. I hereby quote and agreed with my fiancee's Yelp review: "OMG Portobello fries!! Sooooo good!"

Ok, if you've checked out my portfolio already then you probably noticed that I don't promote one single type of photography. I love tinkering into all sort of photography, and some people may say it's bad business practice but at the end of the day learning new things and making mistakes (and learning from it) can only improve one's self.
